these are a few of my favorite things...what's not to love! Rachel Antonoff Spring '11 Lookbook is out. For some reason it also reminded me of the video for "Homecoming" by The Teenagers. Which then also makes me wish it was summer so I can wear dresses and shorts again like all these ladies. Once the 5inches of snow outside melts I guess...
I'm currently in portfolio submissions hell right now, so here's some recent image selections from my tumblr which I've posted or reblogged. Hope your weekend was great!

Still busy, but luckily I found time to paint some mix covers, collaging images from an Urban Outfitters catalog. Actually pretty happy with the results, though now I have to buy my parents something since a cd with Vanity 6 on it probably won't work for them.
Ida the cat listening to the sweet sounds of my mix on our hi-fi. She approves.
I have a major application due tomorrow and will most likely have a strong drink soon after. Las Robertas have been keeping my ears company as I walk the fine line of insanity from staring at my computer too long as I try to get all these things done. All female teen shoegaze-y garage rock from Costa Rica? claro que si! They've been compared to Vivian/Dum Dum Girls and Best Coast...but since they're way younger I'm going to applaud them a little more. When I was a teenager I was much less productive. enjoy...
I have NO business posting when I'm in the midst of studying for a giant exam I'm taking in 3 days..but you know how it is, you look at something so much it morphs into a massive burden that just sucks all the life out of you. yes, that's it. Thus, I'm taking a mental health break and consoling myself with these calming images of the MMMG stores & cafes in Korea.
I had a rough weekend as I try and finish up some projects/study. Friday night I saw Ariel Pink & Os Mutantes though, which was a great time. Now back to work :/
My birthday weekend was great. Had a party at our apartment which had a good turnout as well as dancing. My dude took me to dinner at Nightwood, where I had a whole trout (my crap camera makes it look less appetizing than it was...delicious I swear) and fancy drinks, brunch with a girlfriend was brioche french toast! As for presents, I acquired the Nine West "Kender" boots...soooo comfy, and the Brothers Bray Rucksack in Olive Green. It is very roomy inside and has a waterproof lining, and reinforced leather straps. I love it.
As much as I love everything-in-its-place mid century modern, I have been more drawn to lived in spaces that have warmth and a care-free sense to them. Case in point, illustrator Frank Höhne's place as featured on Freunde von Freunden.
I usually listen to the Boswell Sisters around this time of year (autumn/winter), and it makes me wish I had sisters since I'd most likely force them to make a Boswell cover group with me.
first Matzo Ball soup & Kugel at Manny's Cafe (the whole meal made me really need a Tums), Ida the cat, my street-with the large monument at the end of it
I've started a design program, on top of studying for the test to enter Graduate school and prepping for school applications as well so it's made things a bit sparse around here. Still updating my tumblr on a semi-regular basis though.
(the photo is from the weekend, I visited an airstream trailer on a roof...long story)
Where do I start? The work of Parisian creative design team Mathilde Aubier and Christine Delaquaize, otherwise known as Ma + Chr, has me wanting them to design my whole house. I can't imagine what it's be like to walk around in some of their interior design work. Such inspiration in the smallest nooks!
